Our Land, Our Home, Our Heart

14 August, huh?

It is almost at our doorsteps. What are you planning to do on this special day? And I am talking about things apart from decorations and fireworks. Yeah, we should celebrate this day. After all, 14 August is our Independence day; a day of love and sacrifice. But I am thinking more along the lines of doing something productive for this land. We should give something back to this land we live on. Don’t you think?

We can start with little things; plant something, throw the trash/waste in the bin, water the ground and along with all of this, be good to our fellowmen. A big number of us already do carry out these acts, but at the same time, a big number of us do not. Can we join our hands on this: work for a better Pakistan?

Millions of people sacrificed their lives to give us the land we now call our home. I think it’s about time we start to own it and treat it like one.

You know hoisting a flag, or decorating your houses with small ones, once a year, is not enough. It does show our passion and joy we feel for our country. But it mustn’t be restricted to just one day a year. What you say? Agree?

We stand under this flag as one because

We are PAKISTANIS FOREVER!

The World of Numbness

Sometimes you feel a little down, not your usual self. Like the gloominess has engulfed you and drained you out of all the energy. Sometimes you feel…nothing. Sometimes you just shut down. That’s when you actually wake up!

When this feeling of numbness comes over you, you drop the acting, you allow your deep and sometimes dark feelings to overwhelm you. Even though you still keep your walls way up high, and your lips sealed, still you allow your mind to wander to places you haven’t visited in a while.

At that time, you enter your ‘self’, the one that you keep hidden or show only to few. All that is also a part of you, all that is also ‘you’.

You can’t just bag a part of you and lock it up forever, it tends to come to the surface from time to time. Don’t try to fight it, I know I have tried, it only depresses you more. Take a break, take a time alone or with your loved ones, however you feel at ease. Or like me, spend some time with a pen and a page. Let it out. Ease yourself. Try to connect with your ‘deep self’, so you can go back to your ‘normal self’ with a peace of mind.

Break the Silence, Raise Your Voice!

justice

We talk about human mannerism, as if we are the most mannered people around

When there can’t be any more savage animals than us, ever found!!!

I don’t know where to start on this, or even how!

There are monsters, real monsters plucking off our little delicate flowers, our darling little angels. Such horror!!

You probably heard about the current incident. About Zainab, a 7 year old kid, who was kidnapped, rapped and then murdered. This incident took place in Qasur, Pakistan. Her dead body was found among a pile of heap.

world-asia-42637027

A delicate little flower was plucked and squashed. Just like that, as if she was nothing, as if she meant nothing. And she is not the only one. There are billions of boys and girls, who are facing the same horror around the world.

Can you imagine what their families must have gone through? Can you even feel the pain, the agony they must have been going through? We can’t do much to take away that suffering from them, but we can stand by their side and can raise our voices for justice, justice for those children.

This is not a random matter that you can ignore. You need to, we need to raise our voices, raise ourselves for these innocent little souls. We need to get justice for them. We need to stand up as a society, against such barbaric crimes. We need to put an end to this.

We hear about such tragedies now and then, shed some tears on them, feel bad for a day or two and then become silent again. Can’t you see, the silence is strengthening the rapists!

Break the Silence, and

Hang those Culprits!

Don’t let this littel girl’s (Zainab) murder be just another tragedy. Please, I am requesting you, do not let this incident go under the rug too.

Raise Your Voice,

Raise Your Words,

And Make them Pay!

This is sickening, how such criminals can walk free. They are monsters and monsters deserve to be caged and punished. Make him pay. Set an example for the whole world, for others like him, so no one even thinks about going down this lane again.

Self Safety

People ask with their hollow words What’s wrong?

Not sincerely interested in your pain

All they seek are tales

Something to gossip about

They do not deserve to be aware of your scars

They definitely do not deserve to know your secrets

They are like head lice

Being with you, because it satisfies their need

Little by little

Draining you of your own self

If you want to survive and not just exist

Their is a need to wash yourself of all such impurities

Get rid of them

Before they drain you of ‘you’

Save yourself

Before there is no self left to safe

A Dedication

I have a sweet little cousin,

So delicate and sensitive.

Though she acts all rough and tough,

But try to see through those eyes.

Past that smile,

Past that talk,

She is just like any other teenage gal,

Just a little bit more special. 🙂

Don’t want to see her hurt,

Don’t want her to lose herself,

So here is a message for you, my dear

Don’t feel down or alone,

You may not know it yet,

But there are people to whom you mean the world.

Laugh when you can,

Apologize when you should,

And let go of what you can’t change.

Don’t waste your tears for those who are not worth it,

Spare time for those who matter most.

Be who you are and say what you feel.

Don’t worry who mind,

Because who do don’t matter,

And who matter do not mind.

Be yourself, stay happy and remember you are never alone.

None of us can promise you to be there for you always,

But there is someone who will always be,

Just keep your faith and He will keep you safe.
