Our Land, Our Home, Our Heart

14 August, huh?

It is almost at our doorsteps. What are you planning to do on this special day? And I am talking about things apart from decorations and fireworks. Yeah, we should celebrate this day. After all, 14 August is our Independence day; a day of love and sacrifice. But I am thinking more along the lines of doing something productive for this land. We should give something back to this land we live on. Don’t you think?

We can start with little things; plant something, throw the trash/waste in the bin, water the ground and along with all of this, be good to our fellowmen. A big number of us already do carry out these acts, but at the same time, a big number of us do not. Can we join our hands on this: work for a better Pakistan?

Millions of people sacrificed their lives to give us the land we now call our home. I think it’s about time we start to own it and treat it like one.

You know hoisting a flag, or decorating your houses with small ones, once a year, is not enough. It does show our passion and joy we feel for our country. But it mustn’t be restricted to just one day a year. What you say? Agree?

We stand under this flag as one because

We are PAKISTANIS FOREVER!

Montessori Training-Projects

In this post, I am going to share some of the projects with you that me and my fellows had the experience to make, in our Montessori training. The time to decide ‘what to make’ was kind of hard. We had to choose something different, something that has not been done before, something ‘zara hut ke‘… I don’t think so, we quite reached up to all that, but  we tried our hardest and we gave our best. The rest we left to Allah.

With all the tough routine, exams, quizzes, assignments, practicals, 4 art folders  (did I miss something…) ah yes, cultural files. :), no doubt, it was tough, but we learned numerous things. We not only learned about how to teach and groom children but also how to groom ourselves. Montessori training is not just for children but for you too. Time consuming plus mind consuming 😉 but  worth it.

Back to projects. Submitting these projects was not the end, we were to give presentation (no big deal with that), but we were to give it to an empty class, full of nothing but projects. And we had to pretend that we were giving the presentation to a bunch of children (asking questions, getting answers) all on our own. Of course our teacher was there, marking us, while we were making a fool of ourselves. 😉

You must be waiting for the projects, so here it goes:

Lets start with my project. ‘3 DIMENSIONAL SHAPES’. I enjoyed a lot, working on this project. Making and finding the 3 dimensional shapes, around the house was quite a fun game for me. 😉

Here is a visual view of all the projects, starting with mine:

I am going to end this post with my personal favorite project. ‘THE WESTEND BAKERS’. I tried to capture it from all angles. Now this is what you can say a ‘zara hut ke’ kind of project. Look at the detailing, the small cute things, aren’t they adorable?

Have a look from other angles:

Hope you like the post and that it gave you ideas to make some of your own. Just remember to make the presentation interesting and catchy so that the children not only learn things but also enjoy it to the fullest. This way you will have your full satisfaction too.

Wish you the best. Good day.

Daddy, I Wish You Were Here

Holding her father’s hand

Crossing to a land

That was ahead

She loosened her grip on her father’s hand

From time to time

‘Cause she wanted see the world

She wanted to soar

But whenever darkness prevailed

Or a monster jumped at her in broad daylight

She shrank back, tightened her grip

And he screened her

Standing in the way of everything and anything

Advancing to hurt his little girl

But then came the darkest coldest scariest storm

It turned everything upside down

She looked beside her

He was gone

Her father was gone

She searched and searched

But all in vain

She looked ahead

And she knew

From now on

She will have to cross all the hurdles and

Face all the monsters without him

No going back

Only moving forward

With a heartache

And flashbacks that will always haunt her

Every time she will over come a hurdle

She will look back

And smile, a little smile

A sad happy smile

And will say:

Daddy, I wish you were here

To see your little girl growing up

Daddy, I wish you were here….
