Give a New Look to Your Old Things

Published May 7, 2018 by aak92

I don’t get to upload my art work that often. But I would like to share some of my recent work with you guys (to whoever it may interests).Maybe, because I am a sharing type ;). I will be looking forward to your views or suggestions or whatever is it that you want to say.

Back to the art work. Its about my laptop (lapi). It is about 7, 8 years old; works pretty well, Alhumdulillah. But its outer look, tells another story or more like told another story. You can say, I am kind of a clumsy person. 😉

My family was thinking of buying me a new one when I will start with my studies again but I gave it some thought and came to this decision that I don’t need a new lapi. It is working pretty good so far, there was only one issue and that was with the outer look. I think I am good at covering up the outer flaws, so, that is what I did.

I used a patterned crepe paper, B&W print out images (brightened with markers and colors), some glittery tape and some flowers (used as a accessory for clothes decor.)

Viola!!!

What you think?

That’s all for now. Stay blessed, fellows.

Have a Slice

Published February 1, 2018 by aak92

Not all cakes are eatable but they sure can bring love and cheers.

I have been thinking for a long time to make this. I have seen plenty of great ideas of such treat boxes. Kind of loved the idea. I thought to myself, I will make one of my own, one day.

That one day finally happened. 🙂

This took me few days, covering all bases, finalizing it, but the final product was more than satisfying. I enjoyed every minute of making it. You should give it a try as well.

Such piece of art, can serve a variety of purposes.

One can be hesitant in the start but once that wall is taken down, you can do so much.

My mother liked ‘the cake’ so much that she decided, we should use it as a decoration piece instead of using it for treats. At least, for now. 🙂

Here is a template for making this kind of a cake:

That’s all for now.

Good day, or night, whichever it is. 🙂

Pick a Prop and Strike a Pose!

Published March 28, 2017 by aak92

Props on stick are in fashion these days. Good for me! I get to try new ideas and people get to pose with their props. 😉

I loved making these. Though I did not get to keep much of them but still, when people accepted them with open hands, I was super excited 🙂 . I made face masks, dialogue balloons, mustaches, glasses, pirate hats, monster mouth and Dracula teeth (my favorite).

Hope you liked the post. Do let me know, what you think. Good day.

Montessori Training-Projects

Published March 27, 2017 by aak92

In this post, I am going to share some of the projects with you that me and my fellows had the experience to make, in our Montessori training. The time to decide ‘what to make’ was kind of hard. We had to choose something different, something that has not been done before, something ‘zara hut ke‘… I don’t think so, we quite reached up to all that, but  we tried our hardest and we gave our best. The rest we left to Allah.

With all the tough routine, exams, quizzes, assignments, practicals, 4 art folders  (did I miss something…) ah yes, cultural files. :), no doubt, it was tough, but we learned numerous things. We not only learned about how to teach and groom children but also how to groom ourselves. Montessori training is not just for children but for you too. Time consuming plus mind consuming 😉 but  worth it.

Back to projects. Submitting these projects was not the end, we were to give presentation (no big deal with that), but we were to give it to an empty class, full of nothing but projects. And we had to pretend that we were giving the presentation to a bunch of children (asking questions, getting answers) all on our own. Of course our teacher was there, marking us, while we were making a fool of ourselves. 😉

You must be waiting for the projects, so here it goes:

Lets start with my project. ‘3 DIMENSIONAL SHAPES’. I enjoyed a lot, working on this project. Making and finding the 3 dimensional shapes, around the house was quite a fun game for me. 😉

Here is a visual view of all the projects, starting with mine:

I am going to end this post with my personal favorite project. ‘THE WESTEND BAKERS’. I tried to capture it from all angles. Now this is what you can say a ‘zara hut ke’ kind of project. Look at the detailing, the small cute things, aren’t they adorable?

Have a look from other angles:

Hope you like the post and that it gave you ideas to make some of your own. Just remember to make the presentation interesting and catchy so that the children not only learn things but also enjoy it to the fullest. This way you will have your full satisfaction too.

Wish you the best. Good day.

Box Organizers

Published February 3, 2017 by aak92

“Don’t agonize. Organize.”

Isn’t it good to find your stuff right where you left them? I think it is. Keeping things organized really assists you and not just in keeping your place clean but it also saves you from stress and fear of loosing your belongings, and overall it improves your lifestyle.

I made some box organizers to keep my belongings in order and in place, so, when I need them I can find them without much hustle and bustle.

Here is one I made for jewellery.

img_20160713_155409

Well, the box with drawers was already handy, I just covered it up with some sheets and used some glitter on top and then just filed it up. 🙂

For ring drawer, I used tissues and rolled them up in order to fix the rings in between them.

For other drawers, I similarly, covered the base and filled them up. 🙂

The next one is the ‘box in box’ organizer.

img_20160725_192026

I personally love this one. It really helps me to keep my stationary and crafting stuff right where I can find them. See? 🙂

Lastly, we have…………………….this:

A very own box for handmade cards. 🙂

A good system shortens the road to your goal similarly a clean room and organized stuff can save time and shorten your path to ‘your goal’.

Have a good day and get organized. 🙂

Order for Two

Published February 1, 2017 by aak92

Its been quite a time, since I uploaded anything about, in the crafting corner. So, here it is: not long after I decided to make card making official, I got my first orders! 2 orders! Yeah!!

One was for a little baby turning ‘2’. She also happens to be my niece, cousin’s angel :). The order was from her grandmother and she said something like acha sa koi ho. I was so nervous, I mean there were billions of ideas to work with but what if…. This what if kills us at so many places 😉

So anyway, I finally completed the card and handed it over to the ‘grandmother’. Everyone liked it. Thank You, God! Here is an image of it.

From outside it was like this but this is not all. It got a surprise inside.

Ta-da!!

A pop up of flowers bouquet. I followed a tutorial on youtube. It turned out, pretty close. 🙂

Next up, is the card of Congratulations on promotion.

img_20161202_142216

It also got a surprise inside.

img_20161202_142309

Same idea but it is for two different families, so I guess, it will be a surprise after all.

🙂 Enough for now.

Happiness is Handmade

Published November 30, 2016 by aak92

“Being creative is not a hobby rather its a way of life.”

I have started with this new project, or whatever you call it. I decided to work on handmade cards and putting them out in the world to see their worth, or something. 😉 Its been a while since I started with them. The response is good, so far. In the beginning, it was pretty slow and I almost gave up but thanks God I did not. I guess I was a little too jumpy and insecure. 😉

I really  cherish the time I spend doing stuff like these. Some people say one should do these things when they have time to waste. But ‘art’ is not a waste. Is it? I don’t think so.

Here is some of my work.

Christmas cards. I personally like the one on the left in double door style. Oh sorry, they are both in double door style :). I mean the one with the white background and with stars and decorations.

img_20161104_132242

I fell in love with these two wedding cards :). They were also adored by other people. Especially the one with full dresses. I tried to capture them form all angle and still was not able to get the enough of them.

Last but not the least, we have some birthday cards.

“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”

While working on them, I found a lot about myself in the process. One should involve in such activities, they wash away the dust of this crazy world form your soul and open a whole new land for you.

Do let me know about your opinions. That’s all for now. Stay blessed.
